The names Ilanga and Twiga were chosen by the SIDER community. Ilanga means “sun” in Xhosa; a dialect of South Africa. Twiga means “giraffe” in Swahili.
You may wonder what the relationship between the sun, a giraffe, and the SIDER bottle is?
These two names remind us of the warmth of Cape Town and the wonderful moments we spent under its radiant sun, but these two bottles symbolize much more.
In an ever-changing world, in which we can feel lost and turned upside down, Ilanga symbolizes awareness of being the actor of one’s life.
The first design of the SIDER brand, Ilanga reminds us that anything is possible: go to the other side of the world; create your dream business and live your best life.
At SIDER, we see things in a big way, we take a step up to better take actions. And taking action is one of the strong values of our brand. Twiga symbolizes strength (personal and collective) and above all, the will to take action to have a positive impact in one’s life and in the lives of others.
Why is action value so important? Because once we become aware that we are the actors of our lives, we need the will and the courage to take action in order to make our dreams come true.
With Ilanga and Twiga, we remind you that truly everything is possible from the moment you become aware that you are the creator of your possibilities.
